Texas Chicken Tales

Our trip to Austin turned out to be a great success. We met with Gary & India Rassner-Donovan who welcomed us into their home and shared their wonderful stories of snakes and the joys of raising backyard chickens.

Living well outside the city limits, Gary and India are blessed with a bountiful population of wild poisonous snakes whom they happily share the land with. But it does make for interesting encounters, especially when you add chickens and a coop full of eggs to the mix.

Not only did we thoroughly enjoy the shoot in Texas, but we also made some wonderful new friends too. That’s one of the real pleasures of producing films…getting to meet and work with so many great people.

En route to Austin

We’re flying to Austin, Texas to spend some time doing the very last next to last shoot for the Mad City Chickens film! This would have been it for production, but due to Robert’s untimely flu symptoms earlier in the week, we’ll still be shooting one more bit of video with Craig Johnson upon our return from the Lone Star state.

So what’s in Texas? Chickens of course…and good story. You can create all the exploding eggs and choreographed chicken sword fights you want, but it ain’t a good film without good story.
