Surrey, British Columbia is a municipality in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. The Village Surrey Movie Night Series is a partnership between the Village Surrey Transition Initiative, Surrey Libraries, and The Surrey Urban Farmers Market. They screen movies related to climate change, peak oil, food security, etc. The monthly movie night has a typical attendance of 50-60 and is followed by a community dialogue.

Our documentary, Mad City Chickens, will be playing June 19 at the Surrey City Centre Library, 10350 University Drive. Film starts at 6:00 pm. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

There is a group of people in Surrey preparing to go before City Council to present on the topic of backyard chickens. A representative from that group will leading dialogue at the movie night in the hopes of creating awareness and energy around city backyard chickens.
